Most of today’s 4wd buggies have the fan mounted behind the motor, blowing on the end bell. How does this take advantage of all the cooling holes in all the present motor designs? It doesn’t. You need to get the fan over those cut outs to squeeze as much power from the motor as possible without over heating.
